Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) is planing to set up a gasification plant in its newly set up Industrial Model Township in Faridabad, Haryana. As of now, thw organization has started research and development project for the same.
Sources confirmed that the Haryana Government has approved the allotment of 59.32 acres in IMT for the purpose.
The IOCL will be authorised to use 43.74 acres for industrial use and 15.58 acres for institutional use. It will be setting up demonstration scale manufacturing project, including pilot plants based on technology and other facilities such as solar plants, gasification plants and bio-energy-related units.
The IOCL has proposed to invest Rs 300 crore during the next two years, while investment will rise to Rs 900 crore by 2019.
A spokesperson for the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) said this will be one of the largest investment proposed for any national-level company so far.
