Lebanon Gets Permission for Energy Project

The city of Lebanon received approx $250,000 grant from the Clean Tennessee Energy Grant
program administered by the Tennessee Dept. of Environment and Conservation.

The grant will be used for help with construction of the future waste-to-energy facility that will reduce landfill usage and provide clean electrical power.

PHG Energy and Lebanon agreed to a contract earlier this year that will provide an environmentally sustainable method of waste disposal and produce green power in the process.

The waste-to-energy technology which will be online next year, is a downdraft gasification plant that will cleanly convert up to 64 tons per day of the blended waste wood, scrap tires and sewer sludge into a fuel gas that will generate up to 300 kilowatts of electricity.
